Owner: Broadmoor Golf Club
Architect: Ivary & Associates / Otak
Start Date: October 2007
Project Overview
Construction of two new buildings and a 13 million gallon irrigation lake at Seattle 's Broadmoor Golf Club required two architects, two excavation subcontractors and considerable coordination among the project team.
Charter crews demolished the site's existing buildings before constructing a 13,000 SF pre-engineered metal frame building and a 3,000 SF wood frame building at the club. Both structures were value-engineered to meet budget restrictions.
Crews built a 26-ft.-tall MSE wall as part of the water containment lake, and installed a one-mile long primary power line to serve the maintenance facilities. During the project, special care was taken to control erosion around the nearby Seattle Arboretum.
The varied types of work being performed required separate design teams and specialty subcontractors to meet the owner's specifications. Charter successfully coordinated two architecture teams, two geotechnical design teams and two excavation contractors to bring the project to completion.
