Repairing the water damage to the Sun Plaza Condominiums in Seattle's crowded University District neighborhood has required significant foresight and planning.
The units are located in between a parking lot and condominium complex, with the lot line running from the alley to the street. Deliveries are carefully scheduled to minimize impact on traffic and surrounding neighbors, and materials will be craned to their final locations.
The units are receiving new siding and roofs. A unique rainscreen system incorporates a gap between the siding and the exterior wall, eliminating the possibility of trapped moisture.
The homeowners will remain in the units during construction.
