Charter’s extensive value engineering efforts helped the owners
of the Highlands Condominiums achieve a complete functional and
aesthetic upgrade while remaining within a tight budget.
New seismic anchors brought the structure back to the intended level
of stability, while new Hardiplank/shingle siding and brick veneer
replaced aging vinyl siding and stone veneer. The site was regraded
to channel water away from the buildings and all roofing and roof
sheathing was replaced. Old insulation in the buildings’ attics
was removed and new insulation was blown in.
The multi-faceted project – performed within a tight site
while the buildings remained occupied – was completed on schedule.
