Owner: Manhattan Square Owners' Association
Architect: Soltner Group Architects
Completion: November 2001
Charter Construction’s construction
defect remediation skills and the flexibility of its crews meant
an extensive and difficult job at the Manhattan Square Condominium
was able to be completed two months ahead of schedule, leaving the
owners plenty of time to prepare for the holiday season.
Significant rot and decay in the walls of the complex required new
siding and firewall insulation, waterproofing material, new windows
and more than a dozen new terraces. The project scope changed drastically
well into the job, and the owner asked that the eight month job be
finished two months early, requiring Charter to beef up its crew
on short notice. Nevertheless, Charter effectively managed a crew
of more than 20 craftsmen, plus subcontractors; bringing the job
to completion well within the new timeframe with skill and professionalism.
