Owner: NW Federal Credit Union – VA Branch
Architect: Galloway Architects
Completion: April 2000
Charter knew a tight site and an even tighter budget would make
the NW Federal Credit Union VA Branch job a challenge, but crews
stepped up to the plate, even when a substantial delay threatened
to throw the project off track.
Located on the grounds of the Veterans Administration Hospital in
Seattle, the new branch involved site work and construction of a
freestanding wood-frame building with two drive through lanes. During
initial excavation, Charter discovered hazardous materials on the
site, which resulted in a 30-day delay in the work. Despite this
potential setback, Charter rose to the challenge, finishing the job
ahead of schedule and under the original budget estimate.
