SALMON BAY MARINE CENTER PHASE 2

Owner: Westwater Development
Architect:  Abbott/Heys
Start Date: July, 2008

Located on a large waterfront site on Seattle's Salmon Bay, the Salmon Bay Marine Center is a commercial industrial project featuring upper living spaces and much needed marine related retail and office space to serve the local maritime industry.  Four buildings will be construction over the course of this multi-phase project.

During Phase 1 major site improvements were completed,
including the demolition of existing buildings and the installation of new utilities. The foundations were set with cast piles with a structural concrete slab.  Architectural metal siding and structural steel are featured on the buildings' exteriors. A 72" sanitary sewer line was tapped during construction and required careful planning and scheduling to allow other site work to continue uninterrupted.

Charter now begins Phase 2 of this project with the construction of the remaining two buildings.  With the successful job of value engineering in Phase 1, the team will be equipped to provide accurate pricing and scheduling.  Having developed an effective working relationship with the client and architect coupled with Charter’s adherence to create value driven projects will be beneficial in exceeding expectations to even greater levels.
