Repair of the 85-unit Satomi Condominiums in Newport Hills is extensive, requiring complete siding removal and replacement with upgraded waterproofing details. The transmission of vapors through the basement slabs caused high humidity inside the units. Much of the exterior sheathing will be replaced and extensive structural upgrades will be performed inside and out. Interior flooring will be removed to receive a slab sealing compound and waterproofing details will be applied to the decks at entries.
Residents will remain in their units during the far-reaching work, which involves many different trades. Charter's homeowner liaison will be critical during the construction process, smoothing the path for the homeowners by facilitating communication between the residents and the contractor.
