SEWARD PARK PROFESSIONAL BUILDING

Unpredictable soil conditions at the site of this new high-end office building required flexibility and ingenuity on the part of Charter crews during construction.

Soft ground discovered once mass excavation started proved unable to support the Seward Park Professional Building structure as originally designed. Charter switched gears quickly, coordinating a new foundation design while moving ahead with construction in order to keep to an unbending schedule. Charter was also challenged to be responsible for all aspect of coordination, as no architect was retained for the construction portion of the job.

The three-story, wood-framed building above a concrete parking garage was delivered ahead of schedule to a happy owner.
