Owner: St. Margaret’s Thrift Store
Architect: Chesmore/Buck Architecture
Completion: April 2001
Charter’s close collaboration with the project team on this
job meant the owners got exactly they wanted despite a tight and
unwavering budget.
Crews worked closely with the owner and architect to value engineer
construction of this 6,000 SF building that serves as the St. Margaret’s
Episcopal Church thrift store. Careful consideration was given to
the excavation, framing, siding, HVAC, plumbing and electrical aspects
of the job. With a fixed price contract and Charter’s review
of constructability issues before the project started, the church
avoided costly change orders.
Since construction work necessitated the closure of the thrift shop,
Charter employed an aggressive construction schedule so that fundraising
activities could resume as quickly as possible. The job was completed
on time and on budget.
Upon completion of the thrift shop project, the owner hired Charter
to renovate and replace the church’s sanctuary and offices
on their Bellevue campus.
