Charter Construction was hired to build this custom architectural home to the highest possible standards using materials native to the Pacific Northwest and traditional, old world craftsmanship. The home was designed with a post-and-beam timber frame and cast in place concrete veneer walls.
The owner and the architect worked with Charter to set the highest standards for work on this home. Charter in turn asked for the same commitment from all the subcontractors, eliciting work from everyone of a higher caliber than they had ever performed before. The timber framing for the home was all hand-worked and hand-joined using traditional carpentry methods and Charter’s finest craftsmen.
Charter overcame a challenge that included integrating the landscaping design into the project late in the construction schedule. Crews used a crane to “fly” mature trees over the top of the home and set the stonework and other landscaping materials in the correct places.
