Years of water intrusion in this late-20th century home in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood resulted in invasive mold growth and decay inside and out. Charter rebuilt the home's decks and added key drainage repairs at the exterior. Inside, decayed structural framing was replaced, allowing the owner the opportunity to update the finishes throughout the home.

Charter crews not only simplified, but improved the home's exterior design.  Framed curbs were removed,  allowing water to drain freely off the deck edges.  Railings on the roof deck were moved to the perimeter in order to reduce penetrations in the new membrane.  Windows were reflashed in place, avoiding intrusive removal.  Doors received new drainage pans to keep water from entering the home.

The owner remained in the home during both interior and exterior work, requiring crews to install appropriate protections against weather and mold. The tight project site meant Charter had to perform repairs progressively to make the most of the minimal space available.

What was a terrible experience was made much better because of Charter's professionalism, competence and compassion.
