Permit review delays resulted in a later than anticipated start date; however, Charter made sure it was finished on time. General Disposal was able to relocate its entire fleet to the new facility as originally planned, and Charter’s aggressive value engineering practices resulted in considerable savings for the owner.

The fast-track/design-build contract included the remodel of an existing 11,000 SF building with new electrical and mechanical systems as well as construction of a new 6,000 SF maintenance facility for 65 trucks. Charter also installed a new civil drainage system for the entire 28,000 SF site.

Charter kept the project on track and under budget by closely managing the construction process. Crews anticipated change orders and analyzed alternative construction methods, saving the owner five percent of the total construction cost.

The crew from Charter Construction did a great job. The project was on time, under budget, and the level of workmanship is excellent.
