Extensive decay accelerated by exposure to extreme weather conditions required recladding of the entire apartment building. Charter enclosed the entire 10-story structure in scaffolding to allow access and protect the complex during construction.
Crews replaced all windows, doors, rails and siding; and also installed new Hardiplank and metal corrugated siding with properly integrated flashings and penetration wraps. Additionally, the west end of the building was re-roofed.
Although repairs in some areas required significant access to the units' interiors, Charter was able to allow the tenants to remain by framing up temporary walls and installing extensive interior protection.
I especially appreciated how the new and unexpected issues, no matter how complicated, were promptly brought to my attention with well thought out options for solution.
