This 74-unit condominium complex located in Dupont, WA required significant repairs due to defective construction.  The 12 buildings were completely stripped of the existing vinyl and replaced with Hardi siding.  Extensive dry rot repairs were necessary at entries, windows and doors.  Crews removed deck sheathing and re-sloped the decks to install new coatings with decorative edge patterning.  Roofing repairs included edge flashing, diverters, low sloped pan flashings, gutters and downspouts.

The most challenging aspect of the project involved the attic repairs that consisted of installing draft stop walls between units. With over 20,000 sq. ft. of drywall that had to be brought into the attic spaces, crews set up cat walks to prevent workers from falling through the ceilings, while treading carefully to avoid hitting sprinkler, electrical and plumbing lines.

Units remained occupied for the duration of the project and homeowners were fully apprised of all scheduled work through Charter’s ongoing notification system.
