Repair of the 85-unit Satomi Condominiums in Newport Hills was extensive, requiring complete siding removal and replacement with upgraded waterproofing details. The transmission of vapors through the basement slabs caused high humidity inside the units. Much of the exterior sheathing was replaced and extensive structural upgrades were performed inside and out. Interior flooring was removed to receive a slab sealing compound and waterproofing details were applied to the decks at entries.

Residents remained in their units during the far-reaching work, which involved many different trades. Charter’s homeowner liaison was critical during the construction process, smoothing the path for the homeowners by facilitating communication between the residents and the contractor.
