Southridge High School
Charter Construction and Forensic Building Consultants worked closely together to develop and execute a plan to repair the water intrusion damages to the five-year-old Southridge High School, located in the Beaverton School District near Portland, Oregon.
Poor construction carried out by the original contractor when the school was built led to failed sealing along the school’s exterior metal siding panels as well as faulty window and stucco installation. Charter crews had a tight two-month schedule to complete the remediation job. The metal panels were replaced and re-sealed, eliminating future water and mineral leaching problems.
Charter crews removed and reinstalled the existing windows as well. However, when the window repairs began, extensive structural issues near the window framing were found. New framing supports were installed as well as new stainless-steel window pans and caulking joints, eliminating the atrium and roof leaks previously plaguing the building.
