Sweetbrier Apartments
Constantly closing the street to operate heavy machinery isn’t very neighborly. With just a sliver of land available for staging materials and equipment, we knew this project’s biggest challenge would be minimizing the disruption to nearby residents. Thanks to some inventive and carefully managed scheduling, we were able to avoid street closures during peak hours—and finish the job two months ahead of schedule.
This mixed-use building in Seattle includes three levels of residential apartment units located above ground-level retail/commercial with two and a half levels of below-grade parking. The parking and commercial levels are post-tensioned decks and the apartments are wood-framed.
Charter was a great advocate for the owners, working with subs and suppliers to adjust to changes in scope and modifications as they arose. They provided solutions to problems and worked to provide a great building. Charter pays attention to the details.
