With 16 years of experience as both a commercial property owner and field
superintendent, Doug Dundas brings a unique perspective to the Charter team.
He is able to view the “big picture” from the owner’s standpoint,
while retaining an eye for detail on even the most complex and technical projects.
Dundas excels in restoration contracting and tenant improvement work. As a
graduate of Seattle Pacific University, he combines his business management
degree with his hands-on construction experience to facilitate vital communication
between owners, architects, subcontractors and field personnel.
Professional Accomplishments
Led detailed, year-long restoration of 100-year-old Carroll Apartments on
Seattle’s Capitol Hill following 2001 Nisqually earthquake; complete
overhaul to severely damaged plumbing and electrical systems, seismic upgrade
and strip and tuck point of entire brick exterior; painstaking attention to
detail to preserve elegance and charm of original historic building
Selected Projects
- Sammamish Pointe – year-long restoration of 132-unit occupied
condominium complex; identified and corrected critical water piping installation
problem that had resulting in failure and subsequent water damage; installed
drain trench with perforated pipe to eliminate water accumulation at back
wall of some units, then waterproofed slab; stripped all exterior vinyl siding,
repaired water damage and installed waterproofing and new siding
- The Herbfarm Restaurant – worked closely with owners of exclusive
dining establishment to perform complete interior build-out, including exhibition
kitchen, 130-seat main dining room, 14-seat private dining room, 12,000-bottle
wine cellar and 800 SF of office space
- Loudeye Technologies – 13-month phased expansion into 55,000 SF of
commercial tenant space in downtown Seattle; included construction and linkage
of three data storage facilities around the city, along with installation
of high-capacity HVAC and electrical systems
- Pacific Coast Feather Co. – worked
around active office space to erect and install seven, three-story steel
frames on the exterior and one on the interior of this Seattle building;
replaced 2,000 SF of clay tile separation wall with solid grouted CMU wall
