Jay McClelland's commercial construction industry experience spans 24 years, beginning with a four-year apprenticeship program with the International Brotherhood of Carpenters shortly after graduating from high school. His vast carpentry experience includes concrete forming, wood framing, metal stud framing, sheet rocking, interior and exterior finish work, and hardware installation.
McClelland's most recent experience as a project engineer has sharpened his skills beyond hammer-and-nail carpentry. He is skilled in project start-up; prime- and subcontractor administration; plan and specification review/submittal processes; document control; scheduling and planning; and project close-out.

Projects
- Seattle LDS Temple – Construction of 110,000 SF Mormon temple that sits on a 23.5 acre site in Bellevue, WA. Temple features reinforced concrete with a white marble aggregate façade and cast stone.
- Boeing Final Assembly Plant – Seismic retrofit project that required updated structural building components to meet new code requirements. Additionally, crews expanded the elevated floor space onto the existing structural framing.
- Cedar Court Office Complex – Hybrid office park in Redmond, WA including a subterranean parking structure beneath two 4-story office buildings and two 4-story buildings built on grade.
- Meadowdale High School – The new high school located in Lynnwood, WA was constructed on existing school property. Demolition of the existing school, new construction and the addition of new sports fields were completed while school was in session.
- I-90 Corridor Project – Scope of work included the building of two new bridges on Mercer Island, including retaining walls that created the interstate corridor that runs though Mercer Island.
- Pike Place Market Complex – This project in downtown Seattle, WA included a subterranean parking structure below two low rise towers.
