Summary of Qualifications

Mitchell Cohan has been in the architecture and construction industry for nearly 35 years. In 1977, Mitchell joined a young Las Vegas design-build firm that quickly became a leader in Hotel-Casino design. He has been a registered Architect since 1985, becoming licensed in the state of Nevada and also holds registrations in California and Washington.

Mitchell has designed and has been responsible for various building projects, from full service world class restaurants, high-rise guest room design as well as a range of commercial, residential and interior design projects. Over the course of his career he has been responsible for the design and management of projects totaling nearly $1 billion in today's dollars.

Selected Projects 

  • Silver Legacy Resort Casino—37 story, 1,700 room, 1,900 car parking garage, 90,000 SF casino resort project in downtown Reno, Nevada. Complete themed hotel, casino and entertainment complex.
  • Eldorado Hotel Casino Phase—Multi phased project in downtown Reno, Nevada including the addition of a 25 story, 400 room, 192,000 SF casino and facilities addition; a 12 story, 32 suite, 110,00 sf casino and facilities addition, a 10 story, 700 car parking garage and skyway connecting bridge; new 650 seat, state-of-the-art theatrical showroom, lobby, concession area and bar; and multiple hotel and casino remodels.
  • Sundance Hotel Casino—34 story, 655 room hotel tower, 400 car parking garage, complete casino and hotel facility with health spa in Las Vegas, Nevada. Tallest building in the state of Nevada at the time.
  • Ferrari Carano Estate Winery—Winery production facility in Healdsburg, California with multiple barrel storage buildings/wings, underground barrel storage and the 20,000 SF “Villa Fiore”, which includes public tasting, retail area, owner’s private dining/entertainment facilities, offices and additional underground barrel storage.
  • Steiner’s - A Nevada Style Pub—125 seat themed pub & restaurant in Las Vegas, Nevada. Steiner’s was named “Best Neighborhood Bar” by the Las Vegas Review-Journal in 1999.
  • Eldorado Hotel/Silver Legacy Bridge Link—New 16,200 SF bridge building above 4th Street in Downtown Reno.Themed concourse area, retail shops and Brew Brothers Micro Brewery and Brew Pub, the first ever casino micro-brewery.
