As a project engineer at Charter, Gabe Van Komen is driven by the steps taken to complete a project. With a carpenter for a father, Gabe has been surrounded by the construction industry his entire life. While working for a local contractor, he became experienced in residential and commercial construction. He took that knowledge and started his own company doing remodels, decks, roofing, landscaping, siding and more. Having been in several management roles, Gabe knows how to move a project from start to completion in the most efficient manner.

Projects
- Equinox - Currently working as a project engineer on this 300,000 square foot mixed-use condominium building in Seattle, WA which will consist of three different interconnected structures with three levels of underground parking. The 204 residential units will feature large windows, custom cabinetry, hardwood floors and high-end appliances. With an exterior clad in brick, architectural metal and lap siding, the building will be surrounded by a 9,600 square foot landscaped courtyard.
- Bothell Residence – What started as a shower leak became a complete bathroom remodel. Scope of work included removing tile, reframing dryrotted shower and subfloor, painting and installing a river rock floor and tile in shower. Supervised subcontractors and worked directly with homeowners during all phases of the project.
- Bellevue Residence – Assisted in the remodel of this home while acting as the primary point of contact with homeowners to complete the job. Installed new hardwood flooring and cabinets, painted the interior, installed a kitchen window, tiled bathroom floor and walls and performed sheetrock repair.
- Lake Forest Park Residence – Completely gutted, remodeled and added 2,000 SF to this 3-story home. The basement was lowered by 18” and required removal of the existing basement floor and new concrete poured in stages. Assisted with framing the new roof addition and was responsible for making sure sheer walls were built to specs.
