Sweetbrier ApartmentsConstantly closing the street to operate heavy machinery isn’t very neighborly. With just a sliver of land available for staging materials and equipment, we knew this project’s biggest challenge would be minimizing the disruption to nearby residents. Thanks to some inventive and carefully managed scheduling, we were able to avoid street closures during peak hours—and finish the job two months ahead of schedule. This mixed-use building in Seattle includes three levels of residential apartment units located above ground-level retail/commercial with two and a half levels of below-grade parking. The parking and commercial levels are post-tension decks and the apartments are wood-framed.
