Faced with years of water intrusion from failed LP siding, the Mt. Scott Apartment complex underwent a complete siding removal and replacement over an eight month period. The project is located in Happy Valley, OR and included repairs to 123 occupied units in ten buildings.
Charter’s crews worked quickly during the aggressive eight month schedule to remove and replace 115,000 SF of LP siding with new Hardie cement board siding featuring a rain-screen system. The rain-screen system is designed to allow better ventilation for the building in wet climates, eliminating trapped moisture which leads to dry-rot and water damage.
Project scope also included performing targeted repairs to fix dry-rot and insect damage to the exterior sheathing and framing of the multi-building complex. Charter’s skilled team used their deep understanding of aggressive scheduling and project management techniques to ensure the client’s needs were met and disruptions were limited to the residents of Mt. Scott Apartments.
