Tanzamook Condominiums

Charter’s renovation team was brought in to repair water intrusion problems and roof deficiencies on the 5-year-old, Tanzamook Condominiums. Built in 2009, Tanzamook is a two-building, ten-unit residential community located in Portland’s Irvington neighborhood.

Project scope included the demolition of the existing stucco/lap siding and was replaced with new, HardieReveal2 siding. Tanzamook was one of the first buildings in Oregon to utilize this new durable, panelized envelope system. All windows and doors were removed and reinstalled, all decks received new waterproofing and all drains/scuppers were replaced.

The Irvington neighborhood features many historic buildings with special precautions for material delivery and site laydown during construction. Tanzamook was originally designed to be a small-footprint, open plan building with large roof top decks and was originally built with sustainable materials.
