To our valued Clients and Business Partners,
The impacts of COVID-19 coronavirus continue to compound in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. We are extremely sensitive to the concerns this new virus is generating and want to share the actions we have taken to keep our employees, our clients, and our business partners safe and healthy while completing client projects in a productive and yet responsible way. Below is a summary of these actions:
• We are eliminating non-essential contact with co-workers, business partners and clients as much as possible. Charter team members are calling our clients, architects and business partners to determine what qualifies as non-essential.
• As an alternative to meeting face to face, we encourage meeting remotely via phone, email or virtual platform.
• When face to face meetings are required, these will be performed in small groups practicing social distancing.
• Project site meetings (i.e. safety meetings, quality control inspections, etc.) will be performed outside in small groups practicing social distancing.
• Employees are strongly encouraged to reduce visits to restaurants during lunch breaks and bring lunch to work. Restaurants in both WA and OR are currently restricted to carry-out orders only.
• Our employees are also encouraged to eat outside when on the jobsite (weather permitting) or in their personal vehicle vs. in the job trailer or in close tight quarters.
• When performing interior work, our project managers and superintendents will be working with clients to make sure that we have a clear site-specific protocol for your project, especially if it is an occupied space.
• If you already have an interior protocol, we will be asking for that information so that we can train and prepare our employees appropriately.
• We continue to advise our employees to sanitize and wash hands often. Additional provisions are being provided for all jobsites and Charter vehicles, as required.
• We continue to advise our employees to sanitize their immediate work area often. All jobsites have increased cleaning protocols for temporary facilities and work areas.
• All employees are required to stay home if experiencing flu-like symptoms and contact their medical provider.
This is new territory for all of us, and I don’t presume to have all the answers, but I do know that we have incredible leaders and employees here at Charter. We continue to monitor the information being provided by our government agencies, and we will react quickly and responsibly as new information is provided.
